Bridge 2 Business
Young Enterprise Scotland is delighted to have Bridge 2 Business as one of its key programmes. It is an interactive and engaging programme to inspire, connect and support college students into business.
The Bridge 2 Business programme offers college students first hand opportunities to engage with appropriate entrepreneurial role models. Role models who are relevant to college students who have an interest in setting up their own business now or in the future or for those who are looking to take enterprise skills to their workplace.
Alongside the opportunity to meet and engage with role models the programme will help connect college students with the great networks that exist in Scotland to support our much needed start-up businesses.
In addition to inspiring and connecting our college students, we also offer the college students the chance to apply for a small grant to help test out their business ideas and will match those successful with a mentor from the local business community who will be able to assist as they progress with their business plans.
Bridge 2 Business offers a range of services to inspire, connect & Support College students into business which includes the following which will vary by location with regards to availability:
Inspiring Meet-Ups - Our Inspiring Meet-Ups provide college students with frequent, interactive, thematic sessions which prepare them for all aspects of enterprise, from inspiring innovation to delivering successful pitches, enabling them to identify with and connect to a network of young entrepreneurs.
Get Inspired – This is a full, in-depth, one-day event and golden opportunity to showcase enterprising careers to further education students, and young people interested in business. Our Get Inspired Events are the biggest events in the Bridge to Business calendar.
Inspire ‘EM – This is an Enterprising Masterclasses for young people to meet with and learn from successful role models– Local Heroes”. They are held within College classes to suit the needs of college courses
Bridge 2 Business Challenge - Our Bridge 2 Business Challenges provide fun and beneficial opportunities in support of Inspire ‘EM events. Our challenges offer students funding, with which to co-ordinate the planning and management of an Enterprise activity, leading to potential SQA accredited training in support of their studies.
Bridge 2 Business Hothouse - Hothouses are bases from which our Regional Entrepreneur-ship Executives can deliver our programmes to Further Education Colleges. These hothouses are designed to promote close partnerships between Bridge 2 Business members and FE college staff and students.
Your Bridge 2 Business Grant - This is our way of offering financial and mentoring support to young people with great business ideas but without the funds to test them. We offer small grants and top-notch mentoring, enabling young entrepreneurs to test their ideas, gain skills and develop insights into how to succeed in enterprise.
