Thor House - Stage 1 + 2
What do we offer at Stage 1+2?
Thor House is a custom built facility carefully designed to provide a range of client services – all under one roof. The aim within this unit is to assist attendees to realise their potential, by supporting independence and individual rights. It offers Day Care (capacity of 15 attendees per day) services to adults with learning disabilities via integration with NHS Highland. This centre is open from Monday to Friday only. Attendance can be for the full week, but part week attendance is also available.
It is owned and operated by Highland Council - Care & Learning and by NHS Highland.
Thor House also has a 4 bedded en suite respite care facility and offers a range of short–term care packages to children/teenagers/adults with learning disabilities living within Highland Region up to the age of 19, if still in full time education. It has a lounge/dining room which has digital television and DVD player. The room is also fitted with a loop system for those who have a hearing impairment. A small training kitchen is available with all facilities for cooking and baking – residents and day care attendees are encouraged to use such skills. All rooms have en–suite facilities and are fully furnished.
