UHI West Highland - Stage 3
What do we offer at Stage 3?
A ‘roll on roll off’ College based learning programme which is tailored to your needs and aspirations. The programme offers a mix of vocational and academic learning. At Stage 3 you may already have many of the skills and qualifications to move into work – but often you might not have any evidence of work experience to offer potential Employers. The work placement aspect of this Stage is of particular importance and is expected to be introduced at an early stage.
Who can apply?
This programme is suitable for anyone who is aged 16+ and is not in education, training or employment, but is needing some work experience.

What can you achieve?
As part of the course you could achieve the SQA Employability Award for Employability Fund Stage 3 Clients includes the following units:
- Work Experience
- Developing Skills for Employment
Plus a selection of the following units: Principles of Money; PC Passport: Introduction to the Internet and Online Communications, Word; Skills for Customer Care and any other vocational unit offered by the college which is appropriate to the needs of the individual and available at the time of need.
The Employability Group Award provides 18 – 34 SCQF credit points.
Can I get a training allowance?
You may be eligible to receive a weekly training allowance of £55 or an amount equal to your benefit allowance if you are registered with the Job Centre.
