Calman Trust - Stage 2/3

What do we offer at Stage 2/3?

We deliver the Skills Development Scotland - Employability Fund programme at stage 2.
This programme offers training, in small groups, for you to begin to gain qualifications and experience that will help you to feel ready to move into employment, or more advanced training. We will support you to try different work placements and trials, as well as working in our training centres to build employability skills, life skills and to develop a training plan. We are an accredited SVQ centre so can help you to understand and access qualifications that you wish to gain.
We have a range of businesses, so as well as training, we offer you the chance to try out a variety of activities in a real work setting. This will help you to decide the direction you would like to take.
We will help you to create a CV, and offer support to find employment. We have dedicated staff who build relationships with employers, so that we are able to find job vacancies to suit your skills and abilities.

Who can apply?

This programme is suitable for anyone who is aged 16+ and is not in education, training or employment.

What can you achieve?

We offer a range of SCQF and SQA accredited qualifications to suit your needs. Qualifications could be around a variety of subjects including employability, core skills and Youth Achievement Awards.
Upon completion of this ten week programme, you will have the opportunity to gain the SQA Group Award ‘Introduction to Workplace Skills’. This is a Level 3 course that consists of short periods of workplace experience and the essential elements that most employers would expect of a young person starting work for the first time:
  • Practical Work Place Skills: first steps
  • Personal Development: Self and Work
  • Workplace Core Skills:
