SAAS - Support for care experienced students

If you’re a new or continuing care experienced student, there are funding options available with SAAS which may be able available to you.

You can apply for a funding package of:

  • tuition fees
  • non-income assessed Care Experienced Students Bursary

The amount available is currently £8,100.

Eligibility

The Care Experienced Students Bursary (CESB) is available to eligible full-time students taking an undergraduate course. 

You may be eligible to claim the CESB if you’ve ever been looked after by a Local Authority in the UK, before you turned 18.

Application for this requires to be made following appropriate Highland Council and/or NHS assessment for Adult Services and consequent resource allocation procedures. Further information on accessing services can be obtained from your local Adult Services Team.
