The Highland Council Employability Service supports people who are disadvantaged or disengaged from society to prepare for, gain and sustain employment opportunities. Working closely with partners and our sister services within the local authority we help people who are furthest removed from the labour market to gain employability skills and to move towards employment.
Our target client groups are those who have never worked, accessed training or been out of work long term because of conditions that affect their every day life. We work with people who are requiring support due to many barriers including learning/physical disabilities, homelessness, drug and alcohol addictions, offending behaviour, mental health issues, care-leavers, lone parents and young people with additional support needs.
We facilitate a number of workclubs Highland wide offering motivation skills, literacy and numeracy, c.v building, job search, interview techniques etc.
