Understand, Communicate and Resolve - free training

Aug
16th

The subject of conflict resolution is vast; however, this training identifies generic core elements that individuals, irrespective of their role, will benefit from. The training will give participants the opportunity to reflect on and understand some of the dynamics of conflict within relationships. The training supports the overall aim of the SCCR - to reduce the risk of youth homelessness through reducing family conflict.

Understand, Communicate and Resolve is also certified by the CPD Standards Office but may not be appropriate for all disciplines or professions - ultimately it is the individual's responsibility to evaluate the learning benefit achieved by participating in the training activity for evidencing CPD.

Who is it for?

The course is aimed at practitioners working with families, parents and young people and has been designed in such a way that it allows the practitioner to share their knowledge and experience with like-minded individuals. The delivery is informal and is a mix of presentation, discussion, activity and evaluation.

The training session will allow participants to review and explore the following:

  • Relationships - meaning and value
  • Conflict - a term of reference
  • Perspectives - behaviour norms
  • Growing up - stages and influences
  • Triggers - silly wee things
  • Anger
  • Response Styles
  • Resolution resources

This event will take place on Wednesday 16 August 2017 from 10:00am until 4:00pm at Inverness Youth Hostel - SYHA, Victoria Drive, Inverness, IV2 3QB.
