Trainee Building Standards Surveyor - Job Opportunity in Fort William

The Highland Council are looking for a highly motivated trainee Building Standards Surveyor to begin training with a view to becoming a fully qualified, well trained and experienced Building Standards Surveyor.

The Building Standards section of the workplace is responsible for delivering a range of services related to both its statutory duties under the Building (Scotland) Act 2003 and also that of its verification role, to ensure the health, safety, welfare and convenience of people in and around buildings, to further the conservation of fuel and power and further the achievement of sustainable development.

The successful post holder will learn to be familiar with verification duties relating to Compliance and Reasonable Inquiry and will contribute to the development of the Key Performance Outcomes presently being introduced. Another part of learning that the post holder will be required to take part in will be inspecting defective and/or dangerous buildings and take the necessary enforcement action related to statutory functions.

This is a permanent job, working 35 hours per week. Salary will be £17,381-£36,254 (depending on qualifications and experience).
