Project Assistant: The Virtual Learning Academy are delighted to be working with Black Isle Renewables a dynamic, fast growing Inverness based company who provide renewable heating systems and maintenance.As their preferred education provider, we are supporting them with their recruitment of a Project Assistant. Within this role you will work through a Business Administration Apprenticeship mentored by one of our education consultant’s as well as gaining valuable on the job training.

What might a typical day in this job look like?
Your duties will include: • On-going monitoring of projects to ensure timely completion, on time and within budget. • Raising purchase orders, monitoring deliveries and liaising with suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure best value and timely delivery of products/services. • Maintaining regular telephone and email contact with clients throughout a project to ensure they are kept up to date with developments and timescales. • Relaying information to relevant staff and subcontractors in a timely manner, including working closely with our finance department. • Updating client records within their CRM system in an accurate and timely manner. • Scheduling works into engineers calendars, making sure all relevant information is communicated effectively. • Booking accommodation, ferries and transport as required for the engineering teams. • Carry out follow-up calls and emails with clients and sales contacts, providing relevant information and answering queries. • Organise and facilitate our Supply & Commission projects from start to finish.
What will I learn?
As a Projects Assistant, you will be an integral part of the team. Reporting to the Projects Officer, your role will be to support our installation teams working to install renewables technologies throughout Scotland, and to deliver the highest standard of customer service. What qualification or qualities are required? You will: • Be educated to National 5 level (or equivalent) in Math’s and English • Have an interest in the renewables sector • Have a professional approach and confident telephone manner • Have a desire to be part of a team and to progress within your in role • Experience of working within in a busy office is desirable but not essential • Hours of work 9am- 5pm • Location Inverness • Salary £10-£15K dependent on experience
