Foundation Apprenticeships - Calling all 5th Years, Great Start to your Career!

UHI are running a College wide ad campaign for Foundation Apprenticeships across Colleges for two weeks on Moray Firth Radio at prime times.

Foundation Apprenticeships are a partnership with education and employers working to give young people the opportunity to gain real life work experience, skills and qualifications that will help kick start their career and further study choices.

Working alongside school studies the Foundation Apprenticeship enables pupils going into S5 to step outside of school into the college/university environment for one day a week over two years with work placements integrated throughout.

Developed by Skills Development Scotland, the qualifications take two years to complete and are fully endorsed by industry and are current and relevant.

The Foundation Apprenticeship offers a progression route to Modern Apprenticeships, Graduate Apprenticeships, Higher Education or employment. Pupils going into S5 in 2017/18 may apply by meeting their guidance teacher to discuss entry requirements and completing the relevant application.

More information can be found on Applications for Foundation Apprenticeships can be submitted online in early 2018 for the 2018/19 session. There is an online applications system for pupils accessing courses through the schools programme and this will be live during the application phase.
