Vestas are looking to appoint two apprentices to work in the North Scotland. Starting on 20th August, 2018. This will involve a tailored course working towards a certificate of Modern Apprenticeship (MA) delivered in partnership with Inverness College UHI plus at least an HNC supplementary college course to be attended through day release in years 2-4.
The apprentice role will encompass all elements of wind turbine maintenance & commissioning. Over the course of the training candidates will receive instruction in the following subjects, mechanical assembly, hydraulic assembly and fault finding, electrical installation.
MA’s will be required to successfully compete, in addition to the HNC, the following qualifications: SVQ2 Preforming Engineering operations, NC Engineering Practice and core skills to SCQF5 in the first year and SVQ3 Engineering Maintenance in years 2-4. The first year qualifications will be completed via 30 weeks block release at Inverness College UHI.
