Care and Learning Allience (CALA) have developed an exciting new mentoring and employability programme which creates opportunities for 16-24 year olds to begin their journey into a career in childcare.
#Openingdoors is a flexible programme that delivers group learning days in the Inverness, Nairn, Ross-Shire and Sutherland areas. However, there is the opportunity to work on a 1:1 basis if needed. Your Mentoring Support Officer can meet you wherever is easy for you - a local cafe, school, library or at home.
Group learning days are once a week for 6 weeks and your Mentoring Support Officer can meet at a time that suits you to help you prepare for this.
How much will it cost?
Taking part shouldn’t cost you anything. All of your travel expenses and learning materials will be paid for during your time with #openingdoors.
How long will it take?
It’s up to you, you can go at your own pace. You will be supported for as long as you like, until you are in paid work or decide to leave the project.
What will I gain?
You get out what you put in at #Openingdoors. With our support you will gain confidence, knowledge and skills specific to the childcare sector as you work through the programme. Beginning with personal development and finishing with your placement #Openingdoors will give you all the support you need to find your feet. You will also gain a completion certificate for each phase completed and a graduation prize of £50 towards your working wardrobe when all phases are completed.
Is it for me?
Are you 16-24? Does working in childcare interest you? Do you want to enhance your personal and employability skills? Do you want to try a supported work experience placement? Then come in, the door is open…
