Caithness and Sutherland Women’s Aid is a charity limited by guarantee. Our organisation provides women, young people and children who have experience of domestic abuse and / or any type of violence against women with:
- temporary accommodation
- information
- practical and emotional support
We currently have offices based in Wick Caithness and Golspie Sutherland. CASWA is committed to offering a confidential service to women, children and young people. It offers our service users the opportunity to receive emotional and practical support and opportunities to enable them to build coping skills to address their experiences.
Our service includes:
- refuge accommodation for women, children and young people who require temporary accommodation
- a follow–on service offering support to service users moving on from our refuge accommodation
- an outreach service which offers support to vulnerable service users who are living in their own accommodation within the community.
Within CASWA we have a dedicated Children and Young People’s service that currently employ 2 full time (35 hours per week) and 2 part–time workers (25 hours per week).
Children/Young People are allocated a keyworker when first referred to the service. This enables the child and support worker to build up a trusting relationship with each other and provides continuity. Support is provided through: 1–1 support sessions, group sessions, family sessions, drop–in, email, telephone and text.
